October = Breast Cancer Month

Do you watch the NFL? Okay, football? Are you noticing the Pink shoes, gloves, towels, and wrist bands? You know what it means? Well, I'm gonna tell ya! It means, Breast Cancer Awareness month!!! That's right, it's time to talk about the Ta-Ta's. The twin sisters. The Hooters. The Boob's. Whatever you call your breast, it's time to pay them some attention. That mean you too MEN!! (I see you, yeah you, I know your male...yes, you can get breast cancer too, don't believe me--Men and Breast Cancer)

Now ladies. Breast Cancer or any cancer for that matter doesn't care what color, greed, origin, age, height, weight, money, social status, or life style you are. Cancer doesn't ask for an invite, it won't call for a warning, and you will receive no letter. It is up to you to know your body. It is up to you to know the signs. Simple breast checks in the shower or right before you go to bed is all it takes. Help your doctor help you. 

Let me tell you a little story. 

For those that don't know me, I will be 32 this month. I have had 8 mammograms this year. Why? Because I found a lump. I told my doctor upon my next visit. They found the lump. I was one of the lucky ones, and they found it non-cancerous. It was just a Fibroadenomas. What is that? Well, it's a lump that scares the living day lights out of you. However, its common yet the down side, it can turn ugly. So I will get checked more frequently, and I am okay with that. Better safe than sorry. 

My point is, if you do your checks and you find a lump, don't jump to conclusions. Talk to your doctor. There is no need to be scared of doing your self checks. BUT YOU NEED TO DO YOUR CHECKS!! The sooner you find~~the better your chances. And like my case, now we know that I have one lump and it will always be checked to make sure it doesn't change to being something more serious.
